The Children of Willesden Lane by Mona Golabek has inspired a collection of rich educational materials now being used by teachers nationwide to expand students’ knowledge of Holocaust history and their understanding of cultural differences, human perseverance and tolerance through the music and story of Lisa Jura.
The Milken Family Foundation, the Annenberg Foundation and Facing History and Ourselves have partnered to create these educational materials that teach a broad scope of lessons using The Children of Willesden Lane, from history to human perseverance, many of which are offered free of charge on this site.
Teachers around the country have found that the story of Lisa Jura’s journey from Vienna to London, and from adolescence to adulthood, is ideal for inspiring young people across disciplines and grade levels. Lisa’s story helps students reach a deeper understanding of history and of themselves.
